11. Haemaphysalis bancrofti Nuttall and Warburton, 1915. An Australasian species with one record in the Oriental Zoogeographic Region, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Diprotodontia: Macropodidae, but they have also been recovered from Diprotodontia: Phascolarctidae. Adults and nymphs have been collected from Artiodactyla: Bovidae, Carnivora: Canidae, Peramelemorphia: Peramelidae, and Perissodactyla: Equidae. Adults and larvae have been taken from Dasyuromorphia: Dasyuridae; adult ticks alone have been found on Artiodactyla: Suidae, and Carnivora: Felidae; immature stages have been recovered from Diprotodontia: Phalangeridae and Potoroidae, and Cuculiformes: Cuculidae. Haemaphysalis bancrofti is a sporadic parasite of humans. See also Haemaphysalis anomala for its confusion with Haemaphysalis bancrofti.
