107. Amblyomma romitii Tonelli Rondelli, 1939. Neotropical: 1) Brazil, 2) French Guiana, 3) Guyana, 4) Suriname, 5) Venezuela (Jones et al. 1972, Barros-Battesti et al. 2007, Witter et al. 2016, Binetruy et al. 2019, Guglielmone et al. 2021). A few records of Amblyomma romitii have been published under the name Amblyomma tasquei, as explained in Barros-Battesti et al. (2007). As noted under Amblyomma extraoculatum above, Amblyomma romitii was long treated as a synonym of the Oriental Amblyomma extraoculatum, but Barros-Battesti et al. (2007) validated both names.
