Lunar Mineralogy Derived from Improved Diviner Lunar Radiometer Christiansen Feature Maps

Abstract

This dataset contains productions described in Lucey et al. 2021, "Christiansen Feature Map from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Diviner Lunar Radiometer Experiment: Improved corrections and derived mineralogy," P.G. Lucey, B.T. Greenhagen, K. Donaldson Hanna, N. Bowles, A. Flom, and D. A. Paige, JGR Planets in press. Below is detailed description for each tiff file. diviner_CF_space_weathering_corrected.tiff This tiff file contains a version of the Diviner Christiansen Feature (CF) data set sampled at 32 pixels per degree, covering 360 degrees of longitude and +/- 70 degrees of latitude. In raw CF data the wavelength position of the feature is dependent upon composition, degree of space weathering and viewing geometry. This data product has been corrected for viewing geometry and space weathering effects. Latitude and longitudes corresponding to this data set are in diviner_MI_latitude.tiff and diviner_MI_longitude.tiff. diviner_CF_FeO_decorrelated.tiff This tiff file contains a product derived from a version of the Diviner Christiansen Feature (CF) data set sampled at 32 pixels per degree, covering 360 degrees of longitude and +/- 70 degrees of latitude and corrected for space weathering and viewing geometry. The product is the result of the decorrelation of Diviner CF data and FeO derived from the Kaguya Multiband imager by Lemelin et al. 2016. Anomalies in this data set show silica rich anomalies as negative values, and olivine rich anomalies as positive values. Latitude and longitudes corresponding to this data set are in diviner_MI_latitude.tiff and diviner_MI_longitude.tiff. diviner_MI_plagioclase.tiff This tiff file contains a map of the fractional abundance of plagioclase sampled at 32 pixels per degree, covering 360 degrees of longitude and +/- 70 degrees of latitude. The map was derived from data from the the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Diviner Lunar Radiometer Experiment and the Kaguya Multiband Imager. Latitude and longitudes corresponding to this data set are in diviner_MI_latitude.tiff and diviner_MI_longitude.tiff. diviner_MI_pyroxene.tiff This tiff file contains a map of the fractional abundance of pyroxene sampled at 32 pixels per degree, covering 360 degrees of longitude and +/- 70 degrees of latitude. The map was derived from data from the the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Diviner Lunar Radiometer Experiment and the Kaguya Multiband Imager. Latitude and longitudes corresponding to this data set are in diviner_MI_latitude.tiff and diviner_MI_longitude.tiff. diviner_MI_olivine.tiff This tiff file contains a map of the fractional abundance of olivine sampled at 32 pixels per degree, covering 360 degrees of longitude and +/- 70 degrees of latitude. The map was derived from data from the the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Diviner Lunar Radiometer Experiment and the Kaguya Multiband Imager. Latitude and longitudes corresponding to this data set are in diviner_MI_latitude.tiff and diviner_MI_longitude.tiff. diviner_MI_latitude.tiff This tiff file contains a map of latitudes supporting the following data files: diviner_MI_olivine.tiff diviner_MI_plagioclase.tiff diviner_MI_pyroxene.tiff diviner_CF_FeO_decorrelated.tiff diviner_CF_space_weathering_corrected.tiff diviner_MI_longitudes.tiff This tiff file contains a map of longitudes supporting the following data files: diviner_MI_olivine.tiff diviner_MI_plagioclase.tiff diviner_MI_pyroxene.tiff diviner_CF_FeO_decorrelated.tiff diviner_CF_space_weathering_corrected.tif
