RANCANG BANGUN MESIN PENGERINGAN BUNGA ROSELLA DENGAN METODE PREKONDENSASI UDARA

Abstract

Motivasi dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat akan pentingnya mengkonsumsi makanan obat tradisional yang bermanfaat untuk menjaga kesehatan, dengan dampak negatip yang rendah. Obyek penelitian adalah bunga Rosella (Hybiscus Sabdariffa, Sp). Berasal dari tumbuhan perdu yang banyak tumbuh di sebagaian besar wilayah Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menentukan korelasi dari variabel-variabel yang berkaitan dengan proses pengeringan bunga Rosella. Metode yang diterapkan adalah kaji eksperimen terhadap sebuah mesin pengering. Kegiatan dimulai dengan rancang bangun mesin, dilanjutkan dengan pengujian kinerja. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium M&R Jurusan Teknik Mesin Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya. Variabel utama penelitian adalah Prosentase kekeringan (ϕ, %), temperatur UDARA pengeringan (T) serta, waktu pengeringan (t) - Pada T= 500C, menghasilkan t = 10 jam, prosentase kekeringan, ϕ= 10,2% - Pada T = 600C, menghasilkan t = 9 jam, prosentase kekeringan, ϕ = 9,8 % - Pada T = 700C, menghasilkan t = 6 jam, prosentase kekeringan, ϕ = 9,6 % Adapun data yang dipakai sembagai pebending adalah pada proses pengeringan konvensional melalui penjemuran, antara lain. - Lama pengeringan 3 hari, jika cuaca cerah, serta Prosentase kekeringan bunga Rosella minimum 12 %
