ANALISA PENGARUH VARIASI KUAT ARUS DAN JARAK PENGELASAN TERHADAP KEKUATAN TARIK, SAMBUNGAN LAS BAJA KARBON RENDAH DENGAN ELEKTRODA 6013

Abstract

Las busur listrik atau umumnya disebut dengan las listrik adalah suatu proses penyambungan logam dengan menggunakan tenaga listrik sebagai sumber panas. Pengelasan pada masa sekarang ini sangat berperan penting baik dalam bidang rekayasa, konstruksi maupun perbaikan logam. Dalam melakukan pengelasan banyak faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi hasil pengelasan itu sendiri diantaranya : cara dan prosedur pengelasan, alat dan bahan yang dibutuhkan, elektroda yang digunakan, kuat arus yang dipakai dan jarak kampuh yang digunakan. Kuat arus dan jarak kampuh inilah yang diteliti. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam pengambilan data spesimen adalah metode analitik yaitu data yang dikoleksi dan diteliti dijadikan petunjuk dalam penelitian, metode status yaitu sampel yang dipilih dianalisa karakteristiknya, kemudian hasil pengelasan diuji kekuatan tarik, kekerasan dan struktur mikronya, metode evaluasi yaitu data yang didapat dievaluasi untuk mendapatkan hasil yang optimal. Dari hasil penelitian dan pengujian yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan arus 70 A – 110 A dengan jarak kampuh 1 mm dan 2 mm, diperoleh arus 110 A dengan jarak kampuh 1 mm yang memiliki kekuatan tarik maksimum yaitu 507,33 N/mm2. Makin besar arus dan makin besar jarak pengelasan maka makin lebar weldment yang terjadi.
