Abstract

Redes Tolerantes a Atraso possibilitam um tráfego de dados em regiões onde existam, problemas de cobertura de rede convencional, onde enormes distâncias resultam em rotas fim-a-fim possíveis com grande atraso nas comunicações. Este trabalho propõe a utilização de redes DTN para integrar o sistema sensorial e pontos estratégicos integrados à rede de Centros de Controle Operacionais para viabilizar a comunicação sensorial, e de telemetria do sistema primário de linha férrea. Essas redes trabalham com diversos protocolos que fazem a transmissão de dados no formato guarda-e-envia, onde ao menos um dos nós ao longo da rota de transmissão possui a custódia da mensagem, e deixa guardada em sua memória uma cópia. Em redes DTN, quando uma conexão é interrompida, ou a mensagem não chegar ao seu destino, é possível restabelecer a conexão a partir de um novo ponto que possua uma cópia da mensagem, não necessariamente o nó origem, tornando as comunicações mais resilientes. O uso de redes DTN para suprir falhas de cobertura no sistema sensorial de linhas férreas diminui a necessidade de investimento em uma rede continua e, traz um ganho significativo na entrega de dados e mensagens, auxiliando os controladores a tomarem medidas preventivas ou paliativas com relação à segurança de todo o sistema e populações que vivem ao entorno dessas vias. Vias as quais se encontram em locais geograficamente remotos onde não há cobertura de redes de telecomunicações, dificultando assim o gerenciamento dos elementos sensoriais das linhas férreas. Com a aplicação de redes DTN para estes sistemas, as enormes áreas sem cobertura de operadoras ou rede de telecomunicações passa a ter viabilidade devido ao uso das técnicas de transmissões em redes tolerantes a atrasos. O objetivo desse trabalho é a elaboração de uma simulação aplicando redes DTN à malha ferroviária brasileira.
