The calcareous nannofossil assemblage from the Miocene succession that crops out in the Wadi Abu Qada basin, West Central Sinai, Egypt had been recovered to deduce biostratigraphic zonation. The studied stratigraphic section consists of two formations that assigned early to middle Miocene in age, and beginning with Rudeis Formation and unconformably followed by Kareem Formation. A comprehensive examination of the 154 samples collected from these rock units has led to the recognition of thirty-seven calcareous nannofossil species belonging to fourteen genera. The stratigraphic range of the recorded taxa has been used to frame the examined section into three calcareous nannofossil biozones (NN3, NN4, and NN5), and to attempt a correlation with successions both in Egypt and in different areas of the world. Furthermore, the Early/Middle Miocene boundary has been defined and discussed.
