Deconstructing citizen science – Analysis of communication about, from and within citizen science

Dissertation on communication and interaction within citizen science, about citizen science and from citizen science. Science communication and citizen science span far more than conventional uni-directional communication between science and society - as conceptualised in the so called deficit model. This paper-based thesis asks the question: What is the understanding and relevance of citizen science and how can we capture the concept of science communication in citizen science?
