Abstract

Neocosmetura Xin, Wang & Shi gen. nov. (ḚṄaeǿḁ) Generic character. Body small. Frons slightly sloping backwards. Fastigium verticis conical, apex rounded. Apical segment of maxillary palpus slightly longer than subapical one, slightly swollen apically. Pronotum long, lateral lobe without humeral sinus. Tegmina shorter, reaching near middle area of abdomen. Male tenth abdominal tergite prominently extended backwards and curved; cercus complex, middle area expanded. Genitalia membranous. Ovipositor little upcurved. Type species: Neocosmetura torcha Xin, Wang & Shi sp. nov. Remarks. This new genus resembles Cosmetura Yamasaki, 1983 and Abaxinicephora Gorochov & Kang, 2005, but differs in: male tenth abdominal tergite significantly protruded backwards and bent; cerci with the middles complex; epiproct not developed. Etymology. The name of the new genus is derived from male caudal morphological characters resembling Cosmetura. Greek “ neo- ” means new, and the scientific name for Cosmetura.
