Abstract

Anthidium (Anthidium) philorum Cockerell, 1910 (Fig. 18 a–f, female; Fig. 19 a–j, male) Anthidium philorum Cockerell, 1910: 242, ♀. Anthidium philorum var. abbotti Cockerell, 1911: 249, ♂. Anthidium (Anthidium) philorum Cockerell, 1910: Wu, 2006: 145, ♀ (key), 146, ♂ (key), 159, ♀, ♂ (redescription), Fig. 81; Nadimi et al., 2014: 420. Diagnosis: This species can be distinguished from other Anthidium species by the following combination of characters: female, T6 with preapical lateral projection (Fig. 18f); male, apical process of S8 acute triangular (Fig. 19h), T7 lateral lobe acutely pointed with adjacent flanges to exterior (Fig. 19f), S6 emarginate medially (Fig. 19g). Fu-Sheng HUANG; Gyirong (28º54′N, 85º12′E), 4950 m, 1 ♂, 9.VIII.1975, leg. Xue-Zhong ZHANG, 4100 m, 1 ♀, 13.VII.1975, leg. Fu-Sheng HUANG, 1 ♀, 14.VII.1975, leg. Xue-Zhong ZHANG; Kangma Xian, Dalong Village (28º30′N, 89º36′E), 4200 m, 2 ♀, 2 ♂, 4.VII.2014, leg. Qing-Tao Wu; Pulan Xian, Pulan Town, Rengong Village (30º27′N, 81º09′E), 4300m, 1 ♀, 11.VIII.2019, leg. Qing-Tao WU & Dan ZHANG. Type localities. India: Jammu and Kashmir: Ladakh: Rupshu (abbotti), China: Xizang: Gyangtse (philorum). Distribution: China (Xinjiang *, Sichuan, Xizang); Iran, India (Jammu and Kashmir). Floral association: Lotus sp. (Fabaceae) (Nadimi et al., 2014). Remarks: Wu (2006) recorded this species from Sichuan, China, but we could not locate a voucher specimen from there in this study.
