Síndrome de burnout y variables sociodemográficas en docentes peruanos

Abstract

Objetivo: Analizar las variables sociodemográficas relacionadas al síndrome de burnout en docentes de una institución educativa del Cusco. Materiales y métodos: El enfoque de investigación fue cuantitativo, el diseño no experimental y el tipo descriptivo transeccional. La muestra estuvo conformada por 114 docentes del nivel de educación primaria y secundaria pertenecientes a una institución educativa básica regular de la ciudad del Cusco a quienes se les aplicó el Inventario de Burnout de Maslach acompañado de una ficha de datos sociodemográficos. Posteriormente, las respuestas fueron sistematizadas y analizadas utilizando el programa SPSS® versión 22. Resultados: Se halló que los docentes se caracterizaban por presentar altos niveles de síndrome de burnout (42,1%), cansancio emocional (40,3%) y despersonalización (37,7%), sin embargo, presentaron bajos niveles de realización profesional (39,6%). Por otro lado, se demostró que algunas variables el sexo, la edad, el nivel al que enseña, la condición laboral, el horario de trabajo y la antigüedad laboral están asociadas a los niveles de prevalencia del síndrome de burnout. Conclusiones: Los equipos directivos de instituciones educativas, así como a las instancias descentralizadas del Ministerio de Educación deben diseñar programas de detección e intervención en los docentes para disminuir las consecuencias que el síndrome de burnout pudiera ocasionarles.
