Zonitoschema fuscimembris Pan & Ren 2020, comb. nov.

Abstract

Zonitoschema fuscimembris (Fairmaire, 1886) comb. nov. Zonitis fuscimembris Fairmaire, 1886: 351. Type locality: “ Yunnan ”, China. Type depository: MNHN. Type material examined. Lectotype: “ Yunnan // R. P. Delavay ”, “Ex Musaeo // ARM. David 1900”, “ Zonitis fuscimembris Fairm. ” (MNHN; Fig. 6). Paralectotype: 1 ex., “ Zonitis fuscimembris Fairm. Yunnan ” (MNHN). Other material examined from China. 1 ex., “Fokien”, “ Zonitis fuscimembris Fairmaire ”, “ Zonitoschema fuscimembris (Fairm.) // M. A. Bologna det. 2016” (MNHN). Distribution. China: Fujian, Yunnan. Remarks. This species was originally described as Zonitis. Here we propose a new combination for it based on the study of the type specimens (MNHN) and one specimen determined by Marco A. Bologna (MNHN). Z. fuscimembris shows the typical characters of Zonitoschema including body mainly yellow, eyes large and at least attaining medial margin of maxillae on underside of head, antennae elongate and filiform, antennomere II longer than half of III, and pronotum usually longer than wide. Fairmaire (1886) did not describe the details of the type specimens. One of us (Z. Pan) examined three specimens from MHNH listed above. Two are labeled as “ Yunnan, China ”, as the type locality. Therefore, we propose that they are the syntypes, and designate the lectotype and paralectotype.
