Oliparisca simplex

Abstract

Oliparisca simplex (Walker, 1857) Cixius simplex Walker, 1857: 147. Oliarus simplex (Walker, 1857): Distant, 1907: 281; Van Stalle, 1991: 74. Oliparisca simplex (Walker, 1857): Emeljanov, 2001: 72. Distribution: Malaysia (Fig. 28). Remarks. Based on the description and the figures by Van Stalle, 1991, this species closely resembles O. agusani in the simple shape of the aedeagus, but can be distinguished from the latter by the following characters: (1) base of endosoma with two spinose processes (the latter with one); (2) anal segment on right side without rounded lobe (the latter with a large, rounded lobe); (3) left lateral lobe of pygofer broad, apex transversal (the latter tapering).

Published as part of Zhi, Yan, Yang, Lin & Chen, Xiang-Sheng, 2020, First record of the genus Oliparisca Emeljanov (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea: Cixiidae) from China, with description of one new species, pp. 577-585 in Zootaxa 4896 (4) on page 584, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4896.4.9, http://zenodo.org/record/4388260
