Pisonia mitis Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 1026. 1753. "Habitat in India." RCN: 7710. Type not designated. Original material: [icon] in Rheede, Hort. Malab. 7: 33, t. 17. 1688. Current name: Pisonia mitis L. (Nyctaginaceae). Note: Stemmerik (in Blumea 12: 284. 1964) regarded material in LE, linked to Linnaeus’ reference to Amman, as the type. However, this material would not have been seen by Linnaeus and is not original material for the name.
