Zootaxa, 4510(1): 177; Cadena-Castañeda, 2019. Zootaxa, 4605(1): 85. Type species: Eremus rugosifrons rugosifrons Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1888. Diagnosis. Body medium with black brown or brown stripes, wingless or only with last relics of wings. Head large, usually as wide as the pronotum. Face rough, between the eyes with wrinkles. Fastigium verticis wider than scape. Anterior margin of pronotum slightly projected, posterior margin almost straight. Hind femora ventrally armed. Fore tibiae with 4 pairs of long movable spines and 1 pair of apical spines; hind tibiae dorsally flat, with 5–6 pairs of spines on both margins. Male ninth abdominal tergite produced or hood-like; cerci slender, straight, divergent, with setaes, apices sharp; subgenital plate broad, with styli. Ovipositor shorter than 30.0 mm, dorsal and ventral margins smooth, apices acute or obtuse.
