Abstract

Atropa physalodes, spec. nov. 2. Atropa foliis sinuato-angulatis, calycibus clausis acutangulis. Alkekengi amplo flore violaceo. Few. peruv. 724. t.16. Habitat in Peru . D. B. Jussieu. ☉ Radix fibrosa, annua. Caulis bipedalis, patulus, erectus, ramis angulatis. Folia alterna, glabra, oblonga, per petiolum decurrentia, obtuse sinuata ( Daturae ). Pedunculi ad latus petiolorum solitarii, nudi, uniflori. Calyx ovatus, basi excisus, angulis quinque compressis profunde 5 partitus: foliolis sagittato-ovatis. Corolla campanulata, parum quinqueloba, obtusa, Limba erecto, subplicato, caerulescente. Stamina5 , subulata, basi dilatata subvillosa, corolla longe breviora, superne divergentia. Antherae erectae. Germen intra basin staminum. Stylus filiformis, longitudine staminum. Stigma 182 capitatum. Fructus cernuus, tectus calyce majore, quinquangulari augulis compressis arcte clausis, basi mucronatis. Bacca exsucca, 3. 4. s.5-locularis; semina subrotunda, compressa. Media inter Atropam & Physalidem; a Physalide differt figura corollae, staminibus distantibus, calyce quinquepartito, capsula loculamentis pluribus.
