Morley (1913b) transferred P. basalis to Cardiochiles Nees von Esenbeck, 1819; van Achterberg and Desmier de Chenon (2009) subsequently to Snellenius Westwood, 1882 and synonymised S. theretrae (Watanabe, 1937) with it.
