Abstract

¿Cuándo nació el feminismo? ¿Con Olympe de Gouges y la Revolución Francesa, esa revolución “universal” cuya visión de mundo resultó ser tan ancha como las cuatro estacas que apuntalaban la propiedad de un varón blanco y europeo? ¿Con la ola feminista anglo-norteamericana? ¿Con la intelectual francesa Simone de Beauvoir y “¿El segundo sexo” (1969), cuyo texto descolocó para siempre biología y cultura en la comprensión de la condición femenina? ¿Es acaso posible concebir un origen no ilustrado, no letrado y no euro-centrado para el feminismo? ¿O acaso el concepto, como un pase de magia, demiúrgico, ha dado carnadura a la realidad que se propone nombrar? ¿Si el patriarcado tiene un origen varias veces milenario, cómo llamar entonces a una historia de luchas y resistencias, a veces furiosas y desatadas, a veces sordas o rumorosas, que apilaba varios siglos ya para el 1800? ¿O acaso no hubo luchas feministas hasta los siglos XVIII o XIX, y la historia previa no fue más que un extenso páramo de resignaciones frente a los sistemas patriarcales? ¿Entonces, cómo llamar a la lucha, a la acción resiliente de estas mujeres precursoras, por dentro y por fuera de los estrechos márgenes europeos de un universo vasto pese a todo?
