Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah metode writing conference dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerpen siswa. Objek penelitian pembelajaran menulis cerpen dengan metode writing conference. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu : tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan, tahap observasiatau pengamatan, dan tahap refleksi. Hasil penelitian untuk kemampuan menulis cerpen siswa termasuk kategori cukup dengan nilai rata-rata 2.77 pada siklus satu, pada silkus II sebesar 3,08 dan pada siklus III sebesar 3,42. Jadi penerapan metode writing conference dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerpen siswa kelas XI TKR 1 SMK PGRI 2 Badung Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015.
