Abstract

The neotropical genus Discocephala Laporte, 1832 is redescribed and related to allied genera. The type species D. marmorea Laporte, 1832 and D. luteicornis Walker, 1867 is transfered to Ischnopelta Stal, 1868. A new species from northeastern Brazil is described. The study of the genitalia for both sexes, when available, is included.
