ABSTRACT: It analyzes the relations between education and public library, starting off to consider the necessity of a clear differentiation of the social functions that these last ones have. It assumes, in addition, to the library like social organization. It makes a revision of the ideas of society, formal and social education, as well as of currículo. On the matter, it proposes that the public libraries must design their own currículo and educative project librarian (EPL), for which makes operative a proposal synthetic.

RESUMEN: Analiza las relaciones entre educación y biblioteca pública, partiendo de considerar la necesidad de una clara diferenciación de las funciones sociales que estas últimas tienen. Asume, además, a la biblioteca como organización social. Hace una revisión de las ideas de sociedad, de educación formal y social, así como de currículo. Al respecto, propone que las bibliotecas públicas deben diseñar su propio currículo y proyecto educativo bibliotecario (PEB), para lo cual hace una propuesta operativa sintética.
