This release documents the code used for the calculations, figures, and tables presented in the manuscript "Increased carbon footprint of materials production driven by rise in investments" accepted for publication by Nature Geoscience. A preprint is availabe at https://doi.org/10.31235/osf.io/n9ecw The code calculates the carbon footprint of materials and determines which sectors use those materials for production, and what the portion of carbon footprint of final consumption is that can be ascribed to materials.
