Nachhaltigkeit für die Kleinsten: Nachhaltigkeit im Kinderhaus Langnau: Projektbericht

Abstract

Nachhaltigkeit scheint so etwas wie das Gebot der Stunde zu sein. Durch eine frühe Sensibilisierung von Kindern wird ihnen der Zugang zum Thema im weiteren Lebenslauf vereinfacht. Allerdings scheinen die Kitas in der Schweiz noch wenig an dem Thema zu arbeiten. Es gibt zwar einige Bemühungen, die Kitas selbst durch Energieeinsparungen oder regionale Küche nachhaltiger zu machen, die Kinder erhalten aber selten die Möglichkeit, sich mit dem Thema zu befassen. Gerade aus Sicht der Sozialen Arbeit wäre diese Auseinandersetzung aber wichtig, da künftige Generationen stark mit den sozialen Problemen konfrontiert sein werden, welche Klimawandel, Wassermangel und Umweltverschmutzung mit sich bringen. Doch was kann man Kindern im Vorschulalter bereits an Inhalten zumuten und wie kann man die Inhalte alters- und entwicklungsgerecht vermitteln? Fünf detailliert ausgearbeitete Modultage zu den Themen «Abfall», «Tiere», «Ernährung» und «Erde & Pflanzen» zeigen, wie Kinder zwischen drei und sechs Jahren im Kita-Alltag mit dem Thema in Kontakt kommen können. Die Module wurden im Rahmen einer Nachhaltigkeitswoche in einer Kita durchgeführt. Die anschliessende Auswertung bezieht sowohl die Eindrücke der Kinder, als auch jene der Kita-Mitarbeitenden und der Auftraggeberin mit ein.
