Abstract: The authenticity of Francisco de Miranda’s status as a precursor to the struggle for the independence of Latin American peoples and their role in the gestation of integrationist culture is analyzed. It is considered that, despite the fact that there were numerous independence conspiracies and insurrections before Miranda began his work, these were generally limited to the objectives of achieving the freedom of some countries, however the Venezuelan went further when he proposed the independence of all Latin American peoples and their necessary integration. His vehement work in promoting, organizing and disseminating the emancipation and integration of Latin America makes it worthy of the most dignified condition of authenticity.
