Actitud hacia la estadística de los estudiantes del ciclo medio diversificado en instituciones educativas del estado Nueva Esparta

Abstract

Para determinar los componentes que inciden en la actitud de los estudiantes del ciclo medio y diversificado, se aplicó el instrumento propuesto por Estrada (2002) a 595 alumnos en las instituciones educativas del estado Nueva Esparta seleccionados utilizando muestreo probabilístico del tipo trietápico. Los resultados del análisis descriptivo indican una actitud favorable de los encuestados respecto a la estadística. Así también, los resultados obtenidos mediante la aplicación del análisis factorial exploratorio para datos categóricos a partir del criterio del determinante de la matriz de correlaciones policóricas y utilizando como método de extracción el de las componentes principales con una rotación oblicua promax, arrojan cuatro (4) componentes que explican el 53,25% de la variabilidad total: Afectiva y Cognitiva, Dificultad y Ansiedad, Utilidad y Valor, las cuales se asemejan con las obtenidas por Estrada (2002) y Mondéjar, Vargas & Bayot (2008), en cuanto al número de factores, pero difieren en la denominación y orden de estos. La correlación más elevada se da entre la dimensión afectiva y cognitiva y la componente de valor (0,38), esta proximidad indica pues que el agrado que un estudiante tiene hacia la estadística puede influir en la valoración e importancia que le asigne a ésta.
