Open-Access-Option bei DEAL optimal nutzen: Handlungsfelder aus Bibliothekssicht

Abstract

"Sie publizieren, wir finanzieren!" - unter diesem Motto informiert das Open-Access-Team seit einigen Jahren die Wissenschaftler*innen der TU Berlin über den OA-Publikationsfonds. Die finanzielle Unterstützung für OA-Publikationen ist Teil eines umfassenden OA-Serviceangebots, welches explizit nicht allein auf den Goldenen Weg von Open Access ausgerichtet ist. Mit den DEAL-Verträgen steht nun das Versprechen im Raum, administrative und – zumindest autor*innenseitig – finanzielle Hürden für Open Access weiter zu reduzieren. Für Bibliotheken bedeuten die DEAL-Verträge neben der Zentralisierung von Finanzströmen häufig auch mehr Verantwortung in anderen Bereichen: Information über die Verträge allgemein und Rechte von Autor*innen, Verifikation berechtigter Artikel, direkte Beratung bei Fragen rund um Workflows und CC-Lizenzen u.v.m. Michaela Voigt vom Open-Access-Team der TU zeigt, in welchen Handlungsfeldern die UB aktiv wird. Ein besonderer Fokus wird dabei auf der Kommunikation mit den Wissenschaftler*innen liegen, um das Maximale aus den Open-Access-Rechten der DEAL-Verträge herauszuholen.
