Recruiting people to take part is an important part of a research study. Researchers need to understand what makes people decide whether or not to take part in research. In this survey, we wished to find out the reasons why carers of people with chronic conditions, as a discrete group of the general public, might decide to take part in a research study as well as the challenges (difficulties or problems) they think they might face by taking part. The survey asked participants to rate a series of reasons and challenges based on how important they think these are in making decision to take part, or not, in a research study.
