Vanadium and cobalt nitrides were synthesized, from Metal-Organic Complexes, with guanidine carbonate ([C(NH2)3]2CO3) by the Reaction to Programmed Temperature method using 100ml/min of ammonia or nitrogen at 500-800°C; and then it is passed to an ambient temperature with an oxygen/argon mixture (1% mol). It is characterized by: X-ray Diffraction, Elemental Chemical Analysis, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Specific Area, evidencing the formation of oxidic, nitrated and sulphided phases of metals, with high crystallinity in those prepared without ligand. Finally, the solids were evaluated in thiophene hydrodesulfurization (350°C, 1atm); obtaining conversions close to 100% with little stability for the CoV; While the monometallics were stable, we favored the use of ligand with vanadium.
