¿Qué deberían contar (y cómo) los libros de texto de la Educación Secundaria sobre el cambio climático?

Abstract

Los libros de texto son el recurso didáctico más utilizado en las aulas. Familias, profesorado y alumnado, junto con los Gobiernos y editoriales, son los principales defensores de su utilización. Pero este mediador curricular no es neutral y en muchas ocasiones se convierte en un instrumento de legitimación de contenidos que no son científicos. El cambio climático es el problema ecosocial más importante de este siglo y requiere del compromiso de toda la ciudadanía para dar una respuesta global. Según numerosos estudios, el alumnado de secundaria tiene dos vías de aprendizaje sobre la emergencia clima, el cambio climático y el calentamiento global: los medios de comunicación (y redes sociales) y el sistema educativo. En este trabajo presentamos el análisis de la información sobre cambio climático que facilitan los libros de texto de estos niveles educativos para entender porque este alumnado no percibe la urgencia del problema y porque no son proactivos en cuanto a medidas para enfrentarlo. Para finalizar, facilitamos una serie de recomendaciones dirigidas a las editoriales, autoras y autores y al profesorado en general.
