Water is one of the most important components of living organism. Water quality of Shivnath River has become heavily polluted due to the disposal of Industrial effluents and several developmental activities. As research conducted by State Pollution Control Board, it is evident that human activities have contributed immensely in increasing the level of pollutants in the river. In the present study, samples from Durg District were analyzed for various parameters indicative of pollution level. Parameters like Physico-chemical properties like Temperature, Turbidity, colour, and Chemical property like BOD, COD, DO, Total Hardness, PH, Total solids (TDS, TSS) were analyzed. Biological analysis of was performed by ( MFM).
