The present research is devoted to the role of the Moldavian-Wallachian exarch Garviil Bănulescu-Bodini in organizing the monastic life in Moldova and Wallachia during the years (1808–1812). Based on the published materials and those from the archives, the most important reforms carried out by mitorpolit in the monastic life of a given period are described. This article shows the struggle of the exarch Gavriil against the influence of foreign monasteries on the churches and monasteries dedicated in Moldova and Wallachia and the abuses of the abbots of the dedicated monasteries. In this sense, the activity of the exarch is reflected as a supporter of the idea that the dedicated Moldavian monasteries should be subordinated to the Moldavian-Wallachian exarchic spiritual Diocese.
