A vegetação dos afloramentos calcários na Serra do Cipó

Abstract

Na Serra do Espinhaço Meridional, as fitofisionomias de floresta estacional decidual são bastante desconhecidas com relação a sua fitogeografia e a composição florística dessas áreas. Portanto, é importante e necessário que sejam feitas pesquisas que possam auxiliar no conhecimento da flora existente nessas florestas. O presente estudo avalia as mudanças na composição da flora e na estrutura da vegetação em três fragmentos de floresta estacional decidual sobre afloramentos rochosos de calcário na Serra do Cipó, situada na região central de Minas Gerais. Ao longo do gradiente de sucessão ecológica, avalia-se a composições florísticas nos estágios sucessionais inicial, intermediário e tardio. O objetivo foi inventariar as espécies da composição florística dos estratos arbóreo e regenerante e analisar parâmetros estruturais da comunidade florestal, além de fazer uma caracterização e comparação das áreas estudas. Para amostragem, foram inventariadas e identificadas todas as espécies arbustivas e arbóreas ocorrentes em 9 parcelas de 50 metros de comprimento e 20 metros de largura, delimitadas como unidade amostral desse estudo. Também foram inventariadas as plantas lenhosas ocorrentes no estrato regenerante da vegetação. Foram identificas nos dois estratos amostrados, um total de 1.222 indivíduos distribuídos entre 182 espécies. Os resultados mostram que a composição florística permite compreender como a vegetação se regenera no espaço e no tempo e, também, quais os padrões e processos ecológicos definem a estrutura e composição da comunidade arbóreo-arbustiva nos enclaves florestais estudados.
