The La Paloma mine is located in Zarza la Mayor Cáceres. The filonian fluorapatite deposit was worked at different times in the 19th and 20th centuries to obtain raw materials for the manufacture of phosphorous fertilizers. This deposit is especially interesting because of the presence of many rare phosphates, such as kidwellite, cyrilovite, plimerite, corkite, goyazite, benauite, beraunite and natrodufrenite. Some more common minerals also appear, such as cacoxenite and strengithe, as fine specimens.
