Abstract: When we compare and integrate Canghuilhem´s political vitalism with Foucault´s archeo-genealogical methodology, the Foucaultdian category of «dispositif» reveals a radical compatibility with bioanthropological factors that kept unproblematized by his author. Therefore, «extended biopolitics» refers to those readings that have allowed us to extend the theoretical framework of biopolitics through the study of the decisive influence exerted by Georges Canguilhem in Foucault´s thought. The «political phisiology» of liberalism is the result of applying extended biopolitics to the analysis of the social reorganization brought by the bio-historical emergence of liberal governmentality between the 18th and the 19th centuries.
