On 21st November 2019, researchers and people living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) met for a half-day event at the University of Manchester. The aim of the event was to bring researchers and people with COPD together to jointly generate research ideas, foster an understanding of the needs and preferences of people with COPD, and develop networks to ensure people with COPD and members of the public can become active contributors to research. This report outlines the activities we undertook during the event, the insights gained, the lessons learned, and consequent recommendations for future COPD research to support patient self-management.
