The events that normally take place in the university library’s meeting room are broadcast digitally due to the Corona infection situation. These are short lectures by the university’s library on research data management (approx. 30 minutes) followed by discussions. The event is provided with the web conference system based on BigBlueButton (BBB) The sustainability of research data, the sharing of research data or the publication of databases have become increasingly important. Journals often require the publication of the underlying data of an article. Universities, including the University of Hildesheim Foundation, have adopted research data policies, and researchers discuss both the opportunities and risks of "open data", the challenges of data protection and research ethics. Annette Strauch from the Hildesheim University Library gives a brief overview of research data management in the summer semester 2020. In addition, the range of services offered by the university’s library w.r.t. the e-science support is presented.
