Ahomana neotropicalis Distant, 1905h Ahomana neotropicalis Distant 1905h: 24. (Callao, Peru) REMARKS. Sanborn (2014b) designated a lectotype from the syntypes in the BMNH. Callao, Peru became the type locality for the species under Article 73.2.3 of the Code (ICZN 1999). It is a primarily piceous species marked with ochraceous and covered with grey pile, talc-like wings, and slight infuscation on the radial and radiomedial crossveins of the fore wings. DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported previously from Argentina and Peru (Metcalf 1963c; Sanborn 2013; 2014b). Based on the history of the specimens in the BMNH along with two locality labels on some of the specimens indicating both a specific locality in Peru and Paraguay in general, the presence of the species in Paraguay (Metcalf 1963c; Sanborn 2011b) is considered erroneous (Sanborn 2014b). The species has been reported from Callao (Distant 1905h; Jacobi 1951; Sanborn 2014b) and Callanga (Jacobi 1907) in Peru.
