A influência da Baixa de Kasanji na independência de Angola

Abstract

A luta entre os antigos habitantes no actual território de Angola e os portugueses, data desde o século XV. Tal pode ser pensado desde o Reino do Khongo, Ndongo, Matamba até ao século XX com o Reino dos Kwanyamas por Mandume ya Ndemufayo e Ndembus, o que revela as diversas tentativas de se libertar dos portugueses. Neste contexto, o grito da Baixa de Kasanji foi a revolta que deu impulso as diversas lutas posteriores que permitiram a independência de Angola. Por isso, o artigo pretende explicar a revolta da Baixa de Kasanji, considerado por muitos como um dos maiores massacres da História de Angola. Tendo em conta a importância deste tema, a descrição será feita de forma a facilitar a compreensão da influência da Revolta da Baixa de Kasanji na independência nacional de Angola, que foi proporcionada pelos camponeses que a um determinado momento, influenciados pelos vizinhos da República Democrática do Congo perderam o medo e pegaram em catanas e canhangulos para pôr fim a um sofrimento que se levava a cabo na cultura do cultuvo do algodão, COTONANG. O contexto internacional, mais a agitação interna fez com que os camponeses pudessem proporcionar o prelúdio do início da luta de libertação em Angola, isto no dia 4 de Janeiro de 1961, que mais tarde deu continuidade no 4 de Fevereiro de 1961, até ao alcance da independência, no dia 11 de Novembro de 1975.
