Abstract

This presentation gives an introduction to open access data and explore the issues and concerns one encounters when opening access to large datasets. Dr. Adam Leadbetter leads the Data Management team at the Marine Institute's headquarters in Oranmore, Galway. Adam works on making data available for discovery and reuse by researchers and the general public. Adam's research interests are around the Web of Data, in particular the use of Semantic Web and Linked Data techniques and their application to the oceanographic domain. The presentation was part of the Open Scholarship Week 2020 at NUI Galway, 11-15 May 2020.
