The Academic Senate of the California State University (ASCSU) on May 7, 2020, passed resolution AS-3412-20/FA in robust support of Open Researcher and Contributor iD (ORCID). The vote was without dissent: 47 ayes, 0 nays, and 2 abstentions. This resolution is one of the first of its kind in the world, with Rutgers having previously passed one and Stanford currently considering one. Today’s ASCSU vote apparently represents the first ORCID resolution adopted by any university consortium.
