The Strandesia psittacea group The Strandesia psittacea group is composed of two species, Strandesia psittacea and Strandesia colombiensis nov. comb. Both species are characterized by an anterior beak-like projection, a posterior spine on the RV and also by a carapace densely set with setae. They also share a similar body length of ca. 1,500µm.
