The lectotype designation of Parnopes apicalis (KIMSEY 1986: 109) should be checked, because the type locality Tadjoura is situated in Djibouti and not in Egypt. DU BUYSSON (1896: 686) has seen the type specimen in Cairo, which is missing the head, but the description of the head made by W.F. Kirby is based on a specimen housed in the Natural History Museum in London.
