Biology Larvae of D. flavifrons can be found in tree sap or tree holes. Flight period May–October (Dominiak 2012). Remarks The previous listing of this species as present in Sweden is doubtful as it has only been reported in Rehnberg & Brodin (2010), based on D. versicolor (Winnertz, 1852) as listed in Szadziewski et al. (1997). We were unable to verify previous records.
