Abstract

Introducción: El peso del recién nacido es resultado de su crecimiento intrauterino desde la concepción hasta el parto. Es variable según su edad gestacional, potencial genético, presencia o ausencia de factores de desviación. El Bajo Peso al Nacer, ha sido definido por la Organización Mundial de la Salud como el peso al nacer menor de 2 500 gramos, es un importante indicador general de salud. Objetivos: Identificar los factores de riesgo preconcepcionales, ambientales, de comportamiento perinatales y neonatales que se asociaron a peso bajo al nacimiento. Pacientes y Métodos: Datos del Sistema Informático Perinatal, entre enero 2005 y diciembre 2015 del Hospital Gineco obstétrico Isidro Ayora (Quito, Ecuador). Diseño del estudio: Se trata de un estudio poblacional retrospectivo, observacional descriptivo y analítico Análisis estadístico: Las variables se clasificaran como escalas nominales dicotómicas, o escalas de intervalo. Para la comparación de dos medias se utilizará la prueba t de Student, para la comparación de medianas la prueba de Mann- Whitney, para la contrastación de proporciones la prueba de Chi2 y para el cálculo de riesgo el Odds Ratio (OR), con su intervalo de confianza al 95%. El nivel de significanción se fijó en α = 0.05. Se utilizara el paquete estadístico EPI-INFO (CDC, OMS). Resultados: En este estudio no se econtró asociación entre peso bajo y madre adolescente ni con violencia durante el embarazo, si se encotró diferencia estadísticamente significativa con el consumo de tóxicos durante el embarazo
