En el siguiente texto presentamos una breve síntesis sobre la caracterización y definición de las actividades de mantenimiento. Concepto que en los últimos años se ha convertido en la literatura arqueológica española en una de las principales líneas de investigación en los estudios de mujeres y las relaciones de género en la prehistoria. Este concepto abre un campo múltiple de posibilidades de conocimiento, dado que, con su utilización, como categoría de análisis, podemos conocer el legado de saberes y prácticas asociadas a la gestión de la vida cotidiana y al ámbito donde se desarrollan, así como nos permite desarrollar estrategias para su recuperación y difusión.
The following is a short summary of the characterization and definition of maintenance activities. Concept in recent years has become the Spanish archaeological literature in one of the main lines of research in women’s studies and gender relations in prehistory. This concept opens up a multitude of possibilities of knowledge, since, with its use as a category of analysis, we know the legacy of knowledge and practices associated with management of daily life and the area where they develop, and allows us to develop strategies for recovery and diffusion.
