In these analysis we try to establish the diferent types of technology that are present in the hand made vessels from some Iron Age settelements from Calvia (Majorca). We have applied thin section studies and image analysis. These methods allow us to know the mineral composition of the pottery, firing temperatures, how many mineral and organic inclusions were in the section, and finally their diferent sizes and roudness. The high differences observed among groups of pottery are in relation to different potter strategies in order to preparing the pastes. In this way, we could confirm that there are differences for making pottery with unequal technical and social solutions depending on the function and the chronology of the vessels.
