CONTROVÉRSIAS SOCIOCIENTÍFICAS DE FORTE IMPACTO LOCAL: MINERAÇÃO, TERRITÓRIO E EDUCAÇÃO

Abstract

No ensino em ciências, questões sociocientíficas se destacam como potencialidades didáticas na abordagem de temas atuais e que considere as relações entre Ciência, Tecnologia e Sociedade (CTS). Nas últimas décadas a dimensão ambiental ganhou destaque na pauta das discussões CTS, especialmente no contexto ibero-americano, devido aos conflitos socioambientais impulsionados pela economia de comodities. Questões sociocientíficas controversas permeiam a vida de educandos e educadores em diversos territórios, apesar de muitas vezes não entendido em sua complexidade pela população e não absorvido pelos professores como potencial didático. Nesse contexto, o entendimento sobre o território, tempo e espaço nos quais controvérsias de forte impacto local se formam e se desenrolam é essencial para a formação crítica de professores e alunos. Considerando estes contextos, desenvolvemos o conceito de Controvérsias Sociocientíficas de Forte Impacto Local (CoSFIL), segundo o qual, o conhecimento geoespacial, dos sistemas de gestão e mecanismos de participação social são estratégias importantes na discussão entre CTS. Nessa pesquisa desenvolvemos um curso-instrumento coleta, no intuito de analisar a visão geral de professores sobre CTS e mudanças de percepção quanto às situações locais, tendo como exemplo o caso da mineração e insegurança de barragens. Resultados preliminares mostram confiança na ciência e tecnologia por parte de professores em relação à CoSFIL (in)segurança de barragens.
