Espejo 2019 - La planta experimental del Sistema Guggenheim en la oficina salitrera Cecilia de Antofagasta (1922-1923)

Abstract

Se presentan la historia y características del establecimiento industrial operado por la firma Guggenheim Brothers cerca de la oficina salitrera Cecilia en la pampa de Antofagasta durante 1922-1923, donde se llevaron a cabo las pruebas de su sistema de elaboración de salitre. Se incorporan datos de la tecnología experimental del proceso, junto con la descripción y levantamiento del sitio de la planta. Se incluye a la vez una reflexión de su dimensión histórica y su importancia como patrimonio industrial.
