Potensi Tanaman Lokal sebagai Galaktagogue Herbal untuk Meningkatkan Produksi ASI

Abstract

Optimalisasi tumbuh kembang anak melalui ASI eksklusif merupakan upaya membentuk SDM berkualitas. Riset kesehatan dasar tahun 2018 menunjukkan capaian program ASI eksklusif belum memenuhi target nasional. Galaktagogue merupakan sediaan obat atau herbal yang terbukti atau dipercaya dapat menginisisasi produksi ASI. Penggunaan tanaman lokal sebagai galaktagogue belum didukung oleh informasi yang komprehensif. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mendeskripsikan potensi tanaman lokal berdasarkan bukti ilmiah saat ini sehingga dihasilkan informasi yang bersifat evidence-based. Penelitian ini merupakan review kualitatif dari berbagai artikel penelitian primer terkait potensi daun katu (Sauropus androgynous), kelor (Moringa citrifolia), dan pepaya (Carica papaya) sebagai galaktagogue dengan subyek ibu hamil dan menyusui. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rebusan daun katu lebih efektif meningkatkan produksi ASI dibandingkan ekstrak daun. Dosis konsumsi sebesar 114mg ekstrak mempercepat pengeluaran kolostrum pasca persalinan. Produksi ASI lebih tinggi pada kelompok yang mengonsumsi sediaan kapsul ekstrak daun kelor dibandingkan tepung daun kelor. Daun pepaya digunakan sebagai terapi relaksasi dengan ditempelkan pada payudara. Konsumsi sediaan jamu uyup-uyup daun pepaya lebih efektif mempercepat dan melancarkan produksi ASI. Kandungan fitokimia daun katu, daun kelor, dan daun pepaya dapat meningkatkan kadar prolaktin (p=0,000). Konsumsi tanaman lokal sebagai galaktagogue herbal dapat dimulai pada akhir trimester tiga hingga pasca persalinan karena tidak terdapat efek samping yang dilaporkan.
