This presentation, given at the ASAPbio workshop, January 20, 2020 [1], reports on policies and practices of preprint platforms relevant to the life and biomedical sciences, as surveyed during 2019 [2], in the context of continued growth in preprint posting in biology [3] and previous recommendations and guidelines by funders and other stakeholders [4]. The original presentation is viewable online using Google Slides: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1lyeUQfPF_OPYNo9Nv8hGX1iUm2pEtg2Eu2akN2DVTug/edit?usp=sharing. | selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
